The xx

When The xx toured Germany for the first time in 2009, no one could’ve imagined that these shy youngsters would one day enchant entire arenas from front row to the rafters. But even then, all the ingredients were already there: Oliver Sim and Romy Madley Croft’s voices, which turned the band’s discography into the longest and most beautiful duet in pop history; drummer Jamie Smith’s eagerness to experiment, which was featured more and more as time went on; and, of course, songs like “VCR” and “Crystalised”, which turned out to be timeless classics the second you pressed play for the first time.

We don’t have to explain how much The xx have evolved since their humble beginnings. But to avoid any doubt, their third album, “I See You”, is the perfect example of why we once started to promote this festival: hand-crafted pop and electronic music simply form the most magical symbiosis.
