He once was the embodiment of melancholy on guitar, bringing us his folk masterpiece ‘For Emma, Forever Ago’ out of voluntary isolation. That was a long time ago! It’s obvious that, since ‘22, A Million’, Bon Iver has stepped into the limelight to question listening habits, genre borders and even spelling to catapult indie folk into the near future. On his last tour, it seemed like Bon Iver and his band had just returned from a journey to 2050 to show us what the future of music would look like – namely, angel voices wrapped in autotune on top of pitched saxophones and drum rhythms put in a meat grinder. We are already certain that Bon Iver’s performance amongst our excavators’ Mad Max ambiance has legendary written all over it!
